All Eyes On Irene.

Hurricane Irene's track has taken a disturbing turn to the west. This puts a potential landfall in Connecticut likely. Should the storm continue on its current path, the City of Danbury will sit on the western side of the storm. This could result in a tremendous amount of rainfall on Sunday into Sunday night.

This is a very fluid situation and you should pay attention to radio and to the tv for the latest up to date information on the storm.

You should take this storm seriously. The ground is saturated, and additional rain fall will result in significant flooding as well as trees falling knocking out power lines.

I have ordered our emergency planning to begin, and our Public Works Dept. will begin cleaning catch basins etc.

Are we sounding the alarm? You bet. Better to prepare for the worst, than be caught off guard.

Stay tuned.
